Wyneth lifted her chin, her eyes sparkling with a mischievous smile as her voice took on a flirtatious tone. "Yes, that's right."

Clearly provoked by her words, Hayden's eyes grew dark. He pressed his lips together, glaring intently at her with a brooding expression.

"Is there anything else?" she asked.

Hayden said nothing. Wyneth's smile vanished, and her face turned icy. "Let go of me, and listen carefully. Hayden, for the past three years, just pretend I never existed as your wife. I hope we never cross paths again. As for the divorce agreement, please have Mr. Zach send it to me promptly." With that, she broke free from his grasp and pushed him away, creating enough distance to walk away.

Hayden stood frozen for quite some time.

When Jake found him, Wyneth was long gone. He hurried over and inquired. "Where's Wyneth? Don't tell me you scared her off."
