Chapter 33

Rio called out to Jake several times before he finally snapped back to reality. Not wanting to ask Hayden directly in front of Rio, Jake held his tongue. When the gathering was over and Rio had left, Jake found an excuse to pull Hayden aside.

"Did you divorce Wyneth?" Having been friends for years, Jake never beat around the bush and always spoke directly. At his words, Hayden paused, his dark eyes turning to Jake. For a brief moment, Jake felt the intensity of Hayden's gaze grow colder.

"Who told you?" Not many people knew about this matter. Apart from him and Wyneth, and Nathan, no one else should know about their divorce. Even his personal assistant, Dexter, was in the dark about it.

Jake wanted to say he heard it from Gigi, but after seeing Hayden's icy stare, he changed his mind. "I guessed." Then, Jake exclaimed in disbelief, "No way, no way! I actually guessed right? You and Wyneth really got divorced? Why did you get divorced? Was it because Wyneth was too beautiful, gentle,
