Driven Crazy

NOLAN

Alanna is driving me the fuck crazy.

I mean, I am losing my fucking mind standing here before her.

She has changed, she is different. She is no longer the girl I used to know before.

"Oh please, I am going to get a fucking drink, since we all want to act like this is normal," Chloe declares and storms away.

I wasn't going to go after her, I had had enough of her drama for one night, of course, she wasn't being overly dramatic this time.

In fact, her reaction is justified, I am trying not to allow my "Active imagination" as Alanna said to Chloe fly, else I would have been reacting the exact way Chloe is.

Ouch, Alanna, that was just stone-cold rude.

But I am losing my mind, how did she go from the helpless girl I married to this sophisticated,  elegant woman right here?

Her eyes were still the brightest hazel green eyes I have ever gazed upon, her body was no longer slender, it was fully rounded, her breasts were more round now, her waist thinner and her butt firmer, and the way the dress she wore hugged her body in the right places.

Chill the fuck out, Nolan. I cautioned myself, I am a fucking married man.

A married man and here stood before me, my ex-wife, looking so refined, so beautiful,  so hot.

I looked for her when she left. I did, but never found her.

I could hear Brad say something about some paperwork and the lady in a black dress and red hair who stood beside her exited the banquet hall to the back with Brad.

Now here we stood. Alone. My mind is raging with thoughts. I am losing my mind just staring at her.

Thousands of questions flooded my mind. But one question stood out.

WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN FOR FIVE YEARS, ALANNA.

"Alanna," I started, I wasn't sure what I was going to say, but I couldn't just stand here staring at her in silence.

She scowled at me, there was disgust in her eyes,  it took me back to the day she had asked me for a divorce. She had the same look.

"Mr. Westbrook," she responded, her glare being replaced with a deadpan look, she was expressionless.

"Just Nolan would do," I muttered, I wasn't trying to make the meeting less formal but I wanted to get rid of the awkwardness and the immense tension in the air.

"I would rather address you as Mr. Westbrook and I would equally appreciate it if you called me, Ms. Alanna or Clarkson," she replied in a cold tone.

What the fuck happened to her. This Isn't the sweet Alanna that I knew back then, the lady who would make dinner for me and I would tell her it tasted bad just to spite her, and she would whip up another plate for me.

I cringed at my own thought, I was mean to her.

"Okay, if you insist," I smoldered, moving an inch closer to her, she smelt great, the cologne on her body smelled exquisite, and the fragrance of her skin smelled expensive.

"I am just surprised to see you, it has been five years, it is almost like you disappeared from the face of the earth and here you are looking….. Different."

I got nothing, no expression from her, she still appeared uninterested, and unimpressed.

I was trying too hard.

For fuck sake, I am fucking Nolan Westbrook,  I shouldn't be trying this hard.

"Mr. Westbrook,  I would appreciate it if you don't say things like that. Given our history, and acknowledging the fact that we were once married, I would prefer it that all interaction should be related to business,"

The fuck, she did not.

She just pulled the same diplomatic shit she pulled on Chloe on me. That was so embarrassing.

I was about to respond to her when Brad returned with the Assistant who had left with him earlier, she had a paper in her hands.

"Here is the legal paperwork, Ms. Alanna, I am sure you would find all the documents you requested properly filed" Brad announced as he strode back to where we stood. His presence gives me the irk. And it doesn't help when everyone thinks he is the responsible one.

"Thank you, Mr. Brad," she replied with a smile.

"The investors,  shareholders, and stakeholders are waiting for your speech," Brad says with a pleasant smile, but I know him too well to know that he was faking it.

"Sure," Alanna says casually and follows him to the stage.

My mind began to connect the dots, she only has 13% shares of the company, and she doesn't have to make a speech. It is not like she is a major shareholder.

I was still deep in thought when Chloe returned with her father.

"Where is she? I hope she has left. "

I didn't bother to respond to her, I only gestured towards the stage where Alanna stood, she was introduced by Brad and handed over the mic.

"That attention-seeking bitch," Chloe cursed out.

I didn't respond, I was already at the peak of my "Chloe-related drama" for the day.

"Thank you very much, everyone," Alanna spoke with a smile, her voice sounding soothing and gracious, her wavy hair blown in synchrony. Her lips curved into one of the most beautiful smiles I have ever seen.

She is so breathtaking.

"I have gotten the opportunity to converse with some of the shareholders," she continued, "Although represented by my legal team, and I assure you LUCA EMPIRE is looking forward to the expansion, we were able to acquire more shares from other shareholders and now hold 40% shares in the WESTBROOK Empire,"

My jaw dropped, enough to hit the floor. What the actual fuck, she is now a major shareholder in the company I am the CEO of.

That means I would be seeing more of her.

This is not good, not good at all, especially when she is looking so damn gorgeous as this.
