My mum asking me about how I was going to take care of the problem, felt so familiar to me.

It felt that way because she had asked me this same question three years ago.

“How are you going to take care of your father, he is a leech, he is a liability to us all. You need to get rid of him,” she had said and my eyes widened in disbelief, this is a man she had spent the better part of her life with and she wanted me to get rid of him.

“You want me to get rid of your husband, a man who happens to be my father,” I mumbled in disbelief. I hate my dad, don't get me wrong, but not enough to kill him.

“Don’t be silly Nolan, I am not saying you should kill your father, just get rid of him,”

I let out a sarcastic chuckle, “Make it clear to me Mum, how exactly do you want me to get rid of him?” I asked and she smirked, in the most diabolical way possible, that was the time I knew I had not really known my mom.
