Chapter 14

They were all like three broken records, neither of them willing to say a word after she had spoken. She said the last words known of them must have expected, thereby, erasing every word they ought to have said from their memories. Not that she regretted what she said since she was only trying to stand her ground in front of Ashley, but… she needs—sincerely needs to think before saying a word.

Every day, she found herself saying things that at the end of the day, she'd wish to hide in a hole. As much as she was trying to stand her ground, those words shouldn't be coming from her, regardless of the situation. If she had said it behind his back, it would have been less embarrassing – but saying it to his hearing was another level of embarrassment. She requires a moment to remind herself that she was in a forced marriage and not some sought of happily-ever-after marriage.

She silently prayed that, at least, someone should say something. Someone should say something and make them forget
