Snowflakes fell from the dark chilly sky as crisp wind weaved the room. The lights in the room flickered continuously until they were finally turned off.

The pitch-black room was indecipherable, and they were no sense of warmth in that room. It felt extremely weird, with an uneasy sense of foreboding.

The silence in the room was beyond icy and dipped into as completely frigid as ice water.

Ava's blood dripped continuously from her hairline down to her chin, and the cozy wind had jolted her out of her unconscious state.

A throbbing pain shot up her arm, and it seems like her arm had been replaced with ice and electricity wired straight into her spine.

She felt extremely uncomfortable: as if something were holding her down. She couldn't fathom what it was, but all she knew was that she found it extremely difficult to move from the spot she was, and the merciless cozy breeze was almost freezing her to death.

“Is she still unconscious?”

“She ought to be awake by now.”

She could hear faint voices from a distance and the approaching sound of a man's shoe outsole and also the click-clack sound of a woman's heels on the tiled floor echoed repeatedly in her ears.

Someone swung the window open and the rays of sunlight shown directly into the depth of her eyes.

Immediately, she furrowed her brows and scrunch her eyes, trying to adjust to the scorching ray of sunlight.

She would have pleaded for them to close the window, but, her moist lips and sore throat made it almost difficult for her to speak. And so, she wore all of her requests and questions in her facial expression.

“Oh, you are awake. For a moment, I thought you were dead.” The familiar voice spoke sarcastically with deep hatred and scoffed afterward.

Even with her head unsettled, she didn't fail to recognize her sister's voice: Wanita.

'Wanita?!' When the name settled in her head, her eyes flared open and the sight in front of her made her eyes widen.

Ignoring the scorching sun penetrating deep into her eyes, she diverted her gaze to the least-expected man standing beside her sister.

“What's up with that expression? Are you surprised? Don't be. He is mine now.”

Her sister's cold voice had spoken up; giving her all the answers she needed in just a few lines of words.

Just to piss Ava off, she placed her hand around his shoulder as the man in return wrap his hands around her waist and pulled her to himself with a mischievous smile.

As much as she tried to overlook their disgusting behavior, she caught a glimpse of her bloody thigh and she raised a questionable brow, still wondering how she ended up in this state.

When she stared down at herself, she noticed the deep cut on her skin: the scabs of blood and the scars on her once spotless body.

“What the hell is going on here?”

She asked as calmly as she could: being careful enough not to hurt her already-bleeding throat.

“Isn't it obvious? Whatever is going on now, we are responsible for it.”

This time, John replied as terror suddenly engulfed Ava. Slowly, she raised her eyes to look at him. Her bloodshot eyes held his gaze: boiling rage building up in her as her expression hardened.

“Do you realize that… you are my boyfriend?”

As much as that sounded stupid; it was the truth: the painful truth and the reality she has to face.

The man standing beside her sister was her supposed boyfriend. The same boy she has been dating since high school and has been foolishly obeying all his demands.

It's no surprise how he had managed to turn her already lame self into a fool.

“Point of correction, Miss. He is not your boyfriend, but min…”

“Shut the fuck up!” Ava commanded cutting Wanita mid-sentence.

For a second, fear crossed Wanita's face, but when she realized that she was supposed to be in command, she walked up to Ava and slapped her across the face; Ava's head whipped to the side, and the outline of Wanita's hand's imprint on her face.

“Even in this state, you dare talk to me in such a manner? I swear, I would kill you and give your body to the dogs.” Wanita spat out through gritted teeth.

Ava bit on her lowers lip to suppress her anger as she gently turned back. But instead of looking at Wanita, her gaze landed on John, who only raised a brow and then shrug his shoulders.

Ava's heart seemed to have been stabbed fiercely with betrayal. She felt a severe pain in her heart watching the two people she trusted the most betray her right in front of her, and there was nothing she could do. She was fucking tied up to a chair!

“Ava!”

“Ava!!”

“Ava!!!”

She could hear this faint husky voice calling out her name. The last time was so loud that it jerked her out from her deep restless slumber into reality.

Holy shit! That's one heck of a terrible dream.

Waking up to such a horrendous dream had her panting heavily. Yes, it was a dream, but indeed… it was her reality.

After facing the harsh reality of her life two days ago, she was beginning to get traumatized by it and now has terrible nightmares that always reminded her of how she got betrayed by the two people she trusted the most.

She sighed and stared at the luxurious, familiar vaulted ceiling room for a second before turning to her side. Just then, her eyes came in contact with a pair of cold blue eyes staring down at her with a blank expression. Surprisingly, she wasn't a bit startled; she was used to it anyway. She was used to this insane man who had always invaded her privacy like a snake, without her permission.

She stared back at this insanely good-looking man whom she had been upsetting for the past seven days ever since she got married to him.

Well, not only was her life a mystery but how she got married to this billionaire Greek God was even more than a mystery to her.

Staring back at this man who had frantically refused to utter a word, she realized how magnificent and elegant he was.

He had this appearance that could make him stand out in a crowd. His eyes were as deep and eloquent, as you could get lost if you stared long enough, and his well-built body could get all girls swooning over him: well, except her.

It is no surprise how she hasn't taken a proper look at her, 'mysterious husband' ever since they got married.

What exactly did he see in her that he suddenly appeared in her life with a request to get married to her?

“You're… okay?”

He finally spoke up with the most soothing voice she has ever heard from him. Furthermore, he slides his hands into his pant pocket and leaned his back on the wall with his gaze not leaving hers.

Ignoring his question, she pulled the duvet aside to get down from the bed, but his eyes landed on her cut wrist.

Terror suddenly overtook his face. His expressionless face became hardened, and a beast-like expression inundated his face.

He grabbed her wrist vigorously and asked, a heavy fury lining the edges of his words, “So what now, huh? You are willing to kill yourself for him?"

With every word he pronounces, his grip on her fractured wrist tightened continuously and mercilessly.

She knew it. Waking up with such an awful dream was to face another terrible reality of her life.

Well, this is her marriage: a marriage that still feels like a mystery and will always remain a mystery to her.

She was mysteriously married to the Almighty Alexander Georgia: the billionaire mafia lord.
