Chapter Six

So first they stopped at a random shop that she used to attend to when she was younger. “O-oh my god, Runa?” The owner of the shop, Dorthy, exclaimed as she rushed to Runa. “You’re back I thought it was a myth.”

Giggling Runa hugged her back, “How are you Dorthy?” Dorthy and Runa were close. Every day, well before she ran off, she would come to her shop of great food and would relax her mind. Dorthy was also a great listener.

“I’m good love. I’ve missed you terribly. Oh? Who's this little guy here?” Dorthy noticed the shy boy that hid behind Runa’s leg. “Don’t tell me you have a kid before me.”

Chuckling, Runa shook her head. “No, he’s not my son. And anyway, can you get us your finest food, something that will fill this little boy's tummy?” Runa asked as she picked him up and placed Ryan on her hip. He was very comfortable on her hip.

“Of course sweetie, you guys just sit in your usual place.” Runa was slightly surprised that she remembered but nodded and took her seat.

Her spot looked like it hadn’t been touched in years. Maybe Dorthy was keeping this spot open for her and her only? She usually never sees anyone sit here before she ran off.Runa why did we come here?” Ryan asked as he played with the plants by the window.

Runa smirked, “Because this place has the best food ever. Trust me, Ryan.” She winked. Ryan only shrugs and waits for his food.

Minutes later Dorthy comes with a tray full of food and Ryan's ears trickled at the smell of it. “Here we go, I got your favorite Runa and for the little handsome pup,” Dorthy said smiling at him.

“Thank you, ma’am.” Runa liked how polite he was and she sets the food more organized for him. He was practically drooling of the food.

“Thank you, Dorthy.”

“Of course babe, call me for anything.” And then Dorthy left and went back to her books. She loved reading.

Runa licked her lips, taking some salad into her mouth and moaning at the taste. She looked at Ryan who was slightly eating his food fast. “Go slower Ryan, don’t want you choking. Your daddy’s gonna kill me.” She joked.

He nodded with a smile. Taking his bites slower and enjoying the taste heavenly. “Runa can I have some of your salad?” He asked with such cute eyes ,she smiled.

“Of course say ahh.” Blushing, Ryan shook his head, “What’s wrong?”

He looked away, “It’s embarrassing.” Giggling she looked and noticed there were like five people here but they were old and not paying mind to anything.

“Alright if you say so.” She rolled her eyes as she just placed some of her salad on his plate. “If you don’t like the onions just take them out.”

Shaking his head, he ate it all and smiled. “So good.” He grumbled as he laid his head on the table with a funny look.

Runa giggled as she ruffled his brown curly hair. Looking up she heard the door open and saw Vinnie come in. She sighed. “Is Runa here?” He asked but he has already known she was here since he smelt her here.

Dorthy nodded, pointing to the back and Vinnie excused himself and made his way to his sister. Getting there he looks at the kid in front of her. “Hey, sis.” Vinnie said, coming over to her and kissing her forehead, “Your kid?”

“No Vinnie he’s not. He’s the kid I took care of last night, now what do you need?” She asked which Vinnie just rolled his eyes and pushed her over, taking his seat.

“Hi bud, I’m Vinnie, what’s your name?” He smirked, the glasses he wore sinking low.

Runa blushed as he looked down. “Ryan.” Vinnie smiled at him and ruffled his hair.

“Aren’t you the shy one? Here take this Ryan.” Vinnie offered some candy which Runa just rolled her eyes and leaned back.

Ryan took the candy with hungry eyes, it was as if the boy could eat anything and anyone in his way. “Anyways guess what mom said about your dress when you left.”

“Let me guess she called me some hooker.”

Chuckling, he nodded and held some tears back from his laughing. “You know your mother so well.”

Smiling Runa nodded and noticed that Ryan was still eating very fast. “Ryan, slower.” She pointed out again.

He frowned but nodded. “I feel like I could drown in this amazing food. I’m gonna tell daddy to take me here every day.” He said proudly, “Also Vinnie, can you leave?” Ryan said politely and cutely.

Vinnie scoffed and narrows his eyes, “Oh yeah Bud? Make me.” Vinnie spoke with confidence.

Ryan looked to Runa with puppy eyes which she just swooned for. “Vinnie leave.”

“Oh come on Runa! He’s playing you with those adorable cute eyes of his.” Vinnie defended but she didn’t care as she glared at him. “Fine. This isn’t over Bud.” And then he left with a slight pout.

Runa giggled which Ryan as well laughed, “I like your brother. He’s cool.” Ryan said with a smile.

Runa winked, “He’s cool indeed. What do you want to do next before I take you home?” She asked as she noticed he was now sitting beside her.

He hummed a silent one but confused hum before he smiled, “Can we go to your packhouse?” He asked, taking her hand and squeezing it tightly. She nodded as she paid for her food and they walked to her packhouse.

“What grade are you in?” She asked as they walked, he swings their conjoined hands and sucked on the lollipop Vinnie had given him.

“Grade one.” He smiled.

“Do you have friends?” The mention of friends made him sad and he shook his head. “Why not? You’re the coolest little boy I’ve ever met.”

Blushing he squeezed her hand tighter, she had noticed this was a way for him whenever he was excited or happy. She was good a reading people. “It’s because they are scared of daddy.” He grimaced.

She could understand that. Alpha Ace was very dominant and if his way wasn’t final then he would ban you from the pack and place a bounty on your head. If you survived within the time limit then you could rejoin the pack but if you didn’t, then death would be your fate.

“I’m sorry.” She said as she noticed they were at her packhouse and she saw Milo and some girl kissing, “Milo?” She coughed awkwardly.

He flinched and looked behind him, “Oh Runa hey? What’s up, love?” He said, placing a protective arm around the girl beside him, “oh right, I found my mate. Meet Carson, Carson meet my dearest friend Runa.”

“Oh hi Runa, it’s great to meet you.” She smiled, Runa was practically squealing with excitement as she came over and hugged her tightly, “Oh okay a hug.”

“You get use to them,” Milo says.

“I’m so happy for you guys! Please bring pups and make me the godmother! I’m so serious.” Runa said, stepping away with a serious look.

Milo rolled his eyes while Carson just smiled and nodded, “Of course.”

“Runa... I wanna go in.” Ryan said as he made grabby hands which Runa picked him up and sat him on her hip.

“Okay, later Milo.” She said as she walked into her packhouse and they went to the dining room where all the pups were running around, playing.

Ryan looked at the little pups running around with so much fun and he looked envious. “Why don’t you shift and play with them?” Runa suggested as she pinched his cheek. He only sighed.

“Daddy hasn’t taught me how to shift yet.”

She hummed as she whistled the pups, “Everyone. This is Ryan, treat him well.” All of them woofed and Ryan soon joined the crowd.

Runa adored the sight until she stiffened a bit. She felt something strong, an unsettling smell coming from the door and she became alert. The door was knocked on and she hesitantly walked to it, opening it, she saw Damien.

“I need to talk to you.” He said, those words making her want to cry out for her twin. She calmed her breathing before scoffing.

“Talk? About what? It’s been five years and you wanna talk? Let’s not bring up a lost cause.” She said as she was about to close the door but he stopped her, pushing the door wider.

He sighed, “Come on Runa, cut the bullshit. I have so many answers that I have to tell you. I’m sure you’re curious are you Runa?”

“I don’t care. Touch my door again and I’ll-“

“Nothing changed. My feelings for you haven’t changed.”

Those words just made her want to hurl with sadness and she only looked down, choking those tears away. “Please Damien, you’ve hurt me more than enough. Marlene is probably wondering where you are and your kid?” She said, holding the door tightly.

“Just- just listen to me!” He yelled as she was about to close the door but a low growl made him stop. He turned around and saw that  Vinnie and Dante were glaring at Damien.

He sighed turning back to Runa. “We’ll talk about this later.” And then she closed the door. He then faced the two growling wolves and smirked, “Looks like I’ve been caught.”

“Come here again Alpha Damien and I’ll kill you.” Vinnie threatens as Damien passed him.

Damien smirked, “Of course you will.”

And then he was off and her siblings rushed to her room.
