What happened to George?

Rose’s POV

Adian's demeanour changed to one much more serious and even thoughtful.

After a moment he let out a defeated sigh before he looked at me.

“I think it's best if you ask Rael yourself.” He said, shaking his head.

My jaw clenched at the vague reply. My guilt for Rael was still there, but now there laid curiosity.

Rael had some questions to answer.

Looking back at the man in front of me, I raised my chin high.

“If that's all, then it's best you leave," I said.

I turned away, wanting to spend as little time as possible with him, especially after what I had just learned.

To my chagrin he proceeded to follow me, stopping at the door. I couldn't help but glare at him as he did.

“Well, it was certainly nice meeting you ladies. I could say we were both definitely in for a surprise today.” He said.

It may or may not have been my imagination when I saw his eyes drift to Kayla for more than a cursory moment, but I wasn't ready to think about that now.
