Urge to kill

Damien's vision bled into red and every thought in his head eddied out. His focus turned razor-sharp and all he could see was her. Ariel. He didn't remember running. Or half-shifting.

He didn't remember how he got there. All he knew, all he heard was her scream for help. All he could smell was her terror when the wolf raised its hand to attack her. All he could feel was rage.

And his fury knew no bounds. No one, no one else touched her. No one. Not without consequence.

In a blink of an eye, he was there, leaping on the wolf that attacked Ariel . The wolf was nearly as big as Damien but Damien was twice as deadly. He swiped at the wolf, drawing blood and though the wolf swiped back, he barely felt the pain register.

The urge to hurt, to kill filled up his thoughts until he could see or hear no more. Until all he wanted was to stop hearing the wolf's pounding pulse.

Damien saw an opening in the wolf's attack and he pounced without hesitation.
