Dante: I ran my fingers through Aurora’s hair as she lay on my chest. Her hand was under her head as she slept, and smiling down at her, I slowly moved her away, laying her on her pillow before I walked to the bathroom to freshen up. The two of us had work to get ready for, but I figured that getting her something to eat would be a nice small gesture considering that she would be exhausted after the trip and the work we had to finish yesterday. Aurora: “Hey” I said, smiling at Dante who just entered my office. It was around ten at night, but due to the number of emails that I still needed to tend to, I chose to stay a while longer. Dante smiled, but I couldn’t help the frown that formed on my face when I noticed that his smile didn’t reach his eyes. His usual calm and genuine expression seemed harder than it usually was. I got up from my chair and walked toward him, smiling when he opened his arms to pull me in for a hug. His arms tightened around me for a second before he pulled away to look me in the eye. “You okay?” I asked, noticing that he wasn’t being his normal self. He shook his head, surprising me, and pulling him to the couch, the two of us sat down and I shook my head in question, waiting for what he had to say. Dante: I clenched my right fist as I waited for Aurora to open the door, knowing that she was well aware of my presence and yet was refusing to let me inside. My wolf grew more protective as I waited by the door, hearing her racing heart. I had a bouquet of red and white roses in my left hand, and it took me everything not to break the door down as I heard a sob break from her lips. Aurora: I frowned as I sat up to find myself inside my room, and on top of my bed. My head throbbed, and my body felt weak despite not remembering putting much of an effort.
