Instinct-based Assault

Light ran from one corner to another. Its sudden arrival made me frown. I raised my hand to shield my eyes. After blinking a few times, I lowered my hand slowly.

"Leader of the pack warriors? What are you doing here?"

I looked at him intently in confusion, but he seemed to sense something else. His face was flushed as if he was holding something back, his hands were still firmly clenched, and his sharp gaze was fixed on me.

What was wrong with him? Why was his expression so bad? Had something bad happened?
