74 - A New Mate

That Omega died before my eyes. Even then, I could do nothing. After the horse-drawn carriage that the two of us had entered had left, that poor Omega's body could only linger at the corner of my eye before it finally vanished.

Little did I know that this afternoon I would return to the path I had left.

David's mansion, one of the most traumatic places I've ever been to, received my footprints for the umpteenth time.

Our arrival was welcomed by his servants who seemed to know I would arrive. In the living room on the first floor, two doctors accompanied by their assistants were waiting for me with their best smiles.

"Who are they?" I asked, both surprised and uncomfortable. The last memory I had of dealing with doctors was when Hilbert knew everything.

"From now on, they'll be helping you until delivery," David said, introducing each of his doctors hired to look after my pregnancy.

"You look well, Madame. I'm sure you'll give birth to a very strong baby," said one of the doctors, Tere
