I sat opposite my son, searching for a way to explain the situation to Flora. "She is my mate," I clarified, although I worried about his reaction in six months if Flora wasn’t around.

“Wow, Dad, that’s great! So she’ll be my mom?” Ivan asked, his face lighting up with a smile.

“Ivan, Flora, and I need time to get to know each other better. I can’t make any promises right now,” I responded, watching his cheerful expression fade to disappointment.

“Are you upset, Ivan?” I inquired as he headed to bed.

“No, I’m not. We have training tomorrow, Dad,” he reminded me. I nodded, tucked him in, kissed his forehead, and left for my room. Just then, my phone rang. It was Nathan.

“Alpha,” he greeted. “We have an issue. He’s not in London; he might be somewhere else, possibly with a new woman.”

“Give it one more day. If there’s still no sign of him, you and Alexia should head back to the pack,” I instructed.
