Flora – POV

Sharing my past with someone else has been unexpected, making me feel a strange lightness. Ryker has been a quiet listener, his presence alone offering a solid sense of support. At times, his sweetness overwhelms me, stirring feelings that I am hesitant to acknowledge. I recognize this feeling—it's love. Yet, I am reluctant to allow my hopes to rise only to be crushed later. It's clear what Ryker feels for me; he's not in love, we're just fated mates, and he's simply acting the part.

I was in my room, busy on my laptop, searching for a new job. I'd recently been fired from Belle's Company, and she'd gone as far as to block me on social media and her call list.

Praying to land a job soon and keep my mind occupied, I found the Manor life tedious. Then, a knock on the door interrupted my thoughts, and I saw Ryker standing in the doorway. "Are you free?" he asked.

"I'm free. I don't have a job since Belle fired me," I responded, smiling.

"How about learning healing and pot
