Chapter 38~ A Beta's love

“Hey, man. Why are you not dressed?” I ask Reece when I find him in the lounge area of the packhouse playing games.

He’s in casual cargo shorts and a grey tee. He seems rather relaxed like there’s no event in the pack today.

He raises his head to glance at me briefly and then returns his focus to the screen.

“I’m sitting the mating ball out.”

I cock up my brow at this.

"Don't you want to find your mate? Several she-wolves have come for the ball."

He shrugs nonchalantly as if we are just talking about the weather.

"I'm not in a hurry. There's still time."

“What? You’re twenty-four and you’re not in a hurry to find your mate?”

What kind of excuse is that?

He pauses for a split moment and then returns to the game.

“I’m just not interested. Good luck. I hope you find your mate today,” he says calmly and I sigh, deciding to give up.
