Chapter 4: Cornered

“Wha-!” he was about to say something when Mira snapped her fingertips automatically her guards appeared beside her and then commanded his men.

“Take him out of my land.” Mira’s eyes glowed in angry red that made Vesmon quiet and let Mira’s men throw him out of her property.

Whenever her eyes turned into a blood shade that almost looked black, it only mean that she was totally in her madness. As soon as she turned her heels that main door magically slammed and she went to the kitchen to get something.

“Strong blood wine, please.” Mira sighed heavily as soon as she took a seat on the bar stool over the small bar peninsula within the kitchen.

“He did it again, doesn’t he, my lady?” her vampire maid and bartender in her kitchen named Saya guessed what made her lady grumpy again.

“He never failed to do so.” She sighed while her vampire bartender maid pour a strong blood wine for her.

“How about you take a breather? I heard some rogues passing the perimeter for sometimes already.” Saya suggested to her lady.

“And why they didn’t tell me about it?” she wondered as she took a sip from her wine.

“They were just passing back and forth. No sign of threats, my lady that’s why they didn’t inform you.” Saya answered about what her mate, one of the guards around their property informed her about. Mira knew already where she got that information.

“Hm, they still should have told me about it in case they were spying around here.” Mira sighed and drink her wine again.

“I don’t think so, my lady…” she sighed which caught Mira’s attention.

“Then tell me what you think about it?” she asked her and finished her first glass.

“Honestly, my lady, I am curious about them. They were just five wolf rogues who weren’t afraid of crossing our land and sending no threat to us. It was like they were just using our woods to set their wolf on the run and maybe to easily go to their respective working place.” Saya laid out what she was thinking about regarding the matter while pouring another glass for her lady.

“Hmm, so they were working to my building since it was the nearest building in the woods. And if they were sending their wolf on the run, they should have asked us about it.” She concluded based on what she heard from Saya.

“Maybe it will be tonight or tomorrow since it's going to be a full moon. They need their wolves to be on the run.” Saya added that they knew about wolves being affected by the pull of the moon as they were when there was a crescent one.

“Hm, then I’ll take that advice. I’ll take my breath then. Thanks for the info and wine. I hope my stroll tonight will be nice.” Mira sighed once again before taking a drink of her wine.

“Just don’t let him destroy your mood at night, my lady.” She suggested to her lady who chuckled.

“I know. Prepare my meal later. I’ll notify you if there is something I would like to add.” Mira finished her second glass and decided to get up from her seat.

“I’ll take note of that, my lady.” Saya smiled back.

“Laters, then.” She waved her hand as she walked out of the kitchen toward the garden next to it. It was the easiest access to the woods.

“Be careful on your way, my lady. It’s about to rain.” Saya bowed and Mira glanced first before vanishing around the garden.

Meanwhile, at the La Croix Commercial Building received an announcement about a strong storm was heading the way and decided to let everyone head back to their home. Angel took it as a sign of good news but the gloomy weather was already taking up the clear morning sky.

“Seems like the storm will be heavy.” Angel sighed when he recalled the cabin. He knew that it won't last if a strong storm hits the land.

But on his way through the woods again, his chest suddenly tightened and whenever it does, he doesn’t like it at all.

‘Hurry. Something bad was happening...’

Hearing his wolf in a worried tone, he dashed as fast as he could around the woods toward the cabin when he started on hearing something not good. He went on running and didn’t even realize that he collided with someone’s body.

“Sorry, are you okay?” Angel asked as pulled away from holding the cold person in his arms.

“Vampire?” he thought as soon as he felt the coldness from the person that he protected from stumbling on the earthly ground.

‘M-mate?’

“Not now, Alarick!” Angel ignored his wolf’s comment and just looked worried over the lady that he stumbled into.

“I’m alright, are you?” the lady’s voice was totally familiar to Angel and he began sniffing the air secretly before he sighed.

“It's you.” Angel thought since he was totally familiar with the voice of his crush who he stumbled to.

“Yeah, but I have to go. Are you sure you’re okay?” Angel answered but asked again the lady that he was helping on getting up.

“Yeah.” she nodded as she dusted herself and Angel smiled before he went back on his tracks.

“Okay, bye. Sorry again!” he shouted to his crush before he vanished into the woods.

He might not want to leave his spot there but he must. Something was indeed pulling him to hurry back to the cabin and he was right to do that. Luca and his son were already fighting three rogues and one was aiming at his wife and daughter.

“Not in my watch!” Angel clicked his tongue and with anger fueling up his strength he began dealing with them.

Angel joined their fight by killing the one who was facing the women in his small pack. It alarmed the three since he instantly killed them as if he were not a wolf, to begin with. With anger, three rogues shifted into their wolf form which emits a very rotten scent. It's filthy and irritating. They knew it will be a serious one.

“Ciel, protect your mother.” Angel whispered to him and stood beside Luca who was cracking his knuckles again.

As Angel felt, it was indeed intense when they started charging at them. Luca dealt with one wolf rogue to his side while Angel dealt with the remaining two. They were circling until they both charged on Angel but he knew how to deal with them since he was a promising wolf. Without shifting into his wolf, the strength and the power as well as the agility totally came from his wolf.

“Nobody messes with my family ever again! Not in my watch!” He roared at the rogue before he ripped its wolf mouth and break its jaw and snapped its neck. He easily break their bones till they died and he feel nothing when he does that.

Breaking its neck and easily killing the two rogues before him, the remaining wolf rogue to Luca’s side suddenly began to feel fear. It slowly stepped back while growling lowly and when it was about to run away, a five vampire showed up. They easily slashed its neck with one swing of a sword.

“Look we have here…” one vampire speaks when they were noticed.

“They’re the rogues we’ve been sensing around here.” another one speaks as they were being recalled.

“No hostile…but…” the only vampire that Angel sensed was reasonable to talk with speaks yet was being cut off when one of them suddenly attacked them.

“YET THEY’RE NOT WELCOME HERE!” the fourth vampire charged at them and Angel pulled Luca toward his family.

“We meant no harm, just let us be.” Angel quickly blocked the sharp nails from the fourth vampire.

“Sorry, but we can’t do that here.” the third vampire with a reasonable tone said to Angel.

“You even build a house in here without our mistress’ permission. Do you think we’ll slip it away just like that when you don’t have permission to do so?” the fifth vampire noticed the house and was already standing beside Luca and his family. It alarmed Angel.

“THE MISTRESS WON’T LET YOU LIVE!” the fourth vampire went on attacking Angel but it was easily being blocked or dodged which irritates the vampire.

“And that’s my mistake on my part. So, since we're on that topic, we could talk about it now. Let’s meet your mistress and ask her permission.” Angel tried to be calm while talking to them and dealing with a reckless vampire before him.

Angel was worried about Luca and his wife but based on how he could tell about the five vampires around them, he knew that he could deal with them but not Luca or his family even though his wife was a witch. He needs to be careful not to provoke the other vampires around them.

“She’s a busy lady you can go back tomorrow…” the first vampire who spoke to them said but he was cut off.

“LEAVE OR WE’LL KILL YOU ALL!” the fourth vampire shouted while grinning as if he won but something twitched in Angel’s hearing.

‘LET ME RIP HIM INTO PIECES!’

“Kill…us…all…” Angel suddenly stopped blocking the vampire’s advances. Yet, the vampire who has been attacking him took the liberty to hit him nonstop.

“Wrong word, dude.” Luca shook his head with a heavy sigh.

“You’re dead meat.” Ciel, his son commented and covered the eyes of his younger sister.

When those vampires heard their comment, they were confused until something suddenly shifted around the air of Angel. He was not shifting but the energy flow around his body started to emit a strange aura that made the four vampires around them shivered.

“He’s like our mistress…” the third one muttered to himself but it was clear enough for them to hear it.

“WHO CARES! HE’LL DIE ANYWAY!” the fourth vampire chuckled and went on hitting Angel over and over again but his opponent was not feeling anything. It was like a mosquito bite with not stung at all.

“DUMBASS MOVE AWAY FROM HIM!” the fifth vampire shouted but it was too late.

Angel suddenly vanished from his spot and the fourth vampire halted as he went into his guarded side. When he turned to his side, Angel gave him a very powerful punch that made the fourth vampire stumbled a couple of feet away but then lose his balance at the end.

“You’ll pay for that!” the fourth vampire clicked his tongue in annoyance and moved faster to charge at Angel.

But Angel was already different from what he usually was. The anger and other mixed-up emotions from within were already causing him to lose control. As the fourth vampire tried its best on hitting him, Angel easily dodged them. To his sight, everything was clear and slow which made every attack that his opponent was giving to him easy to deflect.

“ARGH! LET ME HIT YOU!” the fourth vampire was getting reckless with each attempt that he was giving at Angel. The other vampires with them were disappointed in him at the same time feel sorry because he was totally lost in their fight before it even started.

Punches and kicks were all being either met equally or even worse and making the fourth vampire stumble or break some of his bones. Angel was totally not the usual and it was getting obvious to his skin when those veins became visible and his nails were sharpened.

“I’LL KILL YOU ALL!” the fourth vampire was totally losing his senses and turning into something he hate the most - he was turning himself into a rogue. Then Angel strike and grabbed its neck before raising him up as if he was nothing.

“Kill us you said…what if I do that to you? Shall we demo?” Angel finally spoke but his voice was totally different. It was commanding and imperious like the vampire’s mistress since it was very intimidating.

“L-Let m-me go…” The fourth vampire was having a hard time to breath because of his grip on its neck.

"And why should I do that? After all, you threatened us when we could talk in a civilized manner." Angel spit venom when he spoke and it was making the captured vampire in his hand covered in fear. It even peed on his pants.
