I slept very well last night because I was so tired; I don't know if Erina returned last night. As usual, I changed and put on my bag, getting ready for school. I know I will be the center of ridicule today because perhaps last night's rumors were spread.
But I don't know; I don't have the opportunity to go to school anymore.
I walked downstairs and saw Blake and Alpha Nathan sitting on the sofa; the atmosphere was tense like they were discussing something serious, making me not dare to breathe.
I was careful to go very quietly, and as I passed Alpha Nathan, I bowed to him and Blake. But Blake quickly called me back.
“I have something to tell you; sit down, Erza.” Alpha Nathan looked at me solemnly.
My stupid mouth almost asked why; thankfully, I didn't. Because Alpha's orders are supreme, and we have no right to ask silly questions. I sat down, and my whole body twitched at Blake's following sentence. “Get your things ready and go to Black Moon today.”
"What?" I was in shock.
My lousy thought last night came true, I'm about to turn into a present for Black Moon...
“But I don't even have a wolf….” I said as tears rolled down my cheeks; without even realizing it, I said in a broken voice. “Alpha Ryan will immediately get angry if he finds out about this, he won’t forgive us.”
Blake's disgusted eyes looked at me, then scornfully said. “You think you can be chosen as a gift for Black Moon? It sucks when you're always under the illusion of your worth."
Seeing the bewilderment on my face, Alpha Nathan sighed and explained. “Erza, I think you accidentally offended Black Moon's, Alpha Ryan. You are the one he asked for.”
I froze, my brain stagnating for a moment. "What? Alpha Ryan chose me?"
“He asked one person; he described your appearance very well and the thunder tattoo on your neck. You know, no one else in our pack except you with a tattoo like that." Alpha Nathan said in a low voice. “Have you met Alpha Ryan before?”
I unconsciously touched my neck and shook my head helplessly, I tried to rummage through my memory, but it was all in vain. Usually, I go to school and go home; everyone I meet is in the same pack as me, and there are no strangers. More than that, I don't believe someone as outstanding as Alpha Ryan appeared in front of me without any memory of him.
“Stop crying now bitch!” Blake growled at me. “If you cry now, I will immediately break your neck.”
Blake's cruel words left me speechless. I suddenly remembered to realize I was walking from one hell to another. If Alpha Ryan is scary, isn't Blake scary? I wiped my tears and looked up at my venerable Alpha. "I will go."
Alpha Nathan sighed in relief, then turned to give me a few words of comfort. “Ryan is not as scary as the rumors say. I have met him a few times, and he is very gentle.” That last sentence lowered the volume as if he was talking to himself as if he wanted to trick me, but the last bit of conscience wouldn't allow it.
I heard many rumors about Alpha Ryan. In February of last year, a stray Rouge was in his pack. He executed it and hung it up in front of the members of Black Moon. It was like warning the surrounding swarms not to encroach on his territory.
I heard Alpha Nathan sigh. “Erza, please understand us. These are all for the pack's sake, and if I can protect you, I will not let you go.”
Blake looked at me with disgust. "Remember to work for the pack is an honor."
I looked up at him; I wanted to ask if it was such an honor. Why didn't he tell Erina to do it for me? But in the end, those words were what I held back.
"Yes." I raised my head and smiled at our Alpha one last time; I don't know if I'll be able to see him again in the future. I feared I would be executed immediately upon entering Black Moon territory.
Heavy air enveloped us.
I raised my head and asked in a whisper. “Am I going alone?”
Alpha Nathan looked at me, his voice low and sad. “This time, you have to go alone. I originally wanted to add another wolf to go with you, but Alpha Ryan said he wanted only you. If a second person appears, they will all be killed.”
I licked my lips and stood up. "I'm going to pack up."
As soon as I got up, the suitcase rolled down the stairs in front of me; I grabbed it with my hand and helped it up. I was surprised to see Erina and Alfine standing above, looking at me. I don't know when they will come back.
"Go away, you brat." Erina gloated when she saw me falling into disrepair. “Then that Ryan will rip you apart, bite your neck off, and hang you up for all to see how he used to treat the outcasts.”
I frowned; Erina's words weren't precisely unreasonable, which could be my following situation.
Alpha Nathan didn't seem to agree with Erina's way of speaking; he reminded her in Alpha's tone. “Erina, pay attention to the way you talk. Erza is working for the pack, and she is a great warrior.”
Erina raised her eyebrows, disapproving but remained silent because Alpha's orders were supreme.
Suddenly Alfine walked towards me, for the first time I saw him look at me with his eyes... pity, at least that's how I felt.
Alfine whispered to me. "Be at peace."
I looked at him in surprise and then said forced. "Thank you."
Erina wasn't very pleased with her young brother's actions, so she pulled Alfine over and spoke to me in a sarcastic tone. "Best regards, the feeling of being able to breathe a few more times; I'm just worried we'll hear you're dead in a few hours."
I closed my eyes and took a breath, then smiled at Erina. "Thanks for the reminder, but I'll probably let you down because I'll live up to my new pack just fine."
With that, I dragged my suitcase, passed Alpha Nathan and Blake, and bowed respectfully.
Alpha Nathan nodded, and Blake looked at me with evil eyes. "Get out of my sight."
After listening, I smiled softly and turned to leave. And now I have to leave the place where I lived for nearly 15 years to go to a pack full of strangers.
Alpha Nathan is prudent; he drove me to the boundary, then stopped. He looked at me with some sympathy. "Please live well."I smiled involuntarily when I heard his warm voice; I nodded confidently. "That's for sure."A cold wind blew over me as I stepped down, making me shiver."You're Erza, aren't you?" On the other side of the boundary, a man slowly approached.I hide my fear by not looking him in the eye, and I nod. "Um."“Please step over here and come with me. Alpha doesn't like to wait, so please hurry up." The man said.“Alpha waiting for me?” I asked suspiciously. But the other man didn't care about my question; he just needed one hand to grab me up and throw me into the car with a force that was not light.I swallowed, said. “My suitcase still hasn't been taken...”“Alpha doesn't like any of the other packs appearing here. We will provide everything you need to come to the Black Moon center.” The man coldly replied.I silently and tacitly agreed; I have no regrets about those
Ryan is increasingly pressing on me. In the dark, I can still clearly feel his fiery eyes never leaving me.Suddenly Ryan pressed me against the wall, his hands on either side to stop me from moving, forcing me to face him.His hot breath brushed against my neck as he spoke. "Look at me, I don't like my mate hiding, and she's a coward."“Alpha Ryan, I think you are mistaken.” I opened my mouth with difficulty; I heard my voice trembling. "I'm not your mate; we don't match."Ryan doesn't answer me quickly, his brow furrowed with interest. “How do you know I'm joking? Are you too cynical?”For some reason, maybe I'm sensitive, but after I heard that statement, I felt very uncomfortable. Just a few days ago, Gray just tricked me and made fun of everyone. Then today, Ryan continues to joke with me; he sees me as a stupid girl. And it seems that everywhere I see the same people, they constantly see me as their toy.But I have my dignity and pride. I didn't know where to get my courage; I r
Ryan POV I dived to hug Erza in my heart; she lost consciousness leaning her body against mine. The first time I came in contact with a female wolf at this close range, she was so soft that the wolf inside me growled passionately. But that's not my concern right now, I know Erza has inhaled many toxic fumes, and my mate will probably die from it. Thinking that the wolf inside me got angry, and it roared. “Stupid, why design these stupid things in your own house?” I am equally angry; I also want to ask my father, who has made secret rooms and traps all over the house. That's why I don't allow anyone to come in here, either because I don't like other people invading my privacy or I don't want them to die. Behind me, I heard pounding footsteps, and Evelyn looked at me in shock. “Alpha, what happened to her?” I regained my composure and ordered Evelyn. "Don't ask anymore; call the doctor quickly." I know that in times like these, the first thing I need is calm; that's what I've been t
I stood by and watched the doctor's every move. I want to make sure he won't hurt my mate. At dusk, the sky outside was dark. It's been six hours, and Erza still hasn't woken up, and I frantically paced back and forth, looking at her lifeless face. As I became increasingly impatient, I glared at the doctor, making him shiver. With Evelyn's reminder, I knew I was unintentionally putting pressure on the doctor, so I voluntarily went out. At the door, I ran into Max. Rarely do I see another glint of emotion in his eyes. There was something doubtful and hesitating as if he wanted to say something. Finally, Max still couldn't help but tell me. "Alpha, she's not fit to be Luna. She doesn't have a wolf and will be strongly opposed by everyone." "Now I can't even find my mate? I need to consult others about choosing Luna?" I narrow my eyes to reveal a dangerous look, to prove that I am willing to fight to protect my mate. "But Alpha, she's..." Max stepped forward, trying to make it clea
Erza POV I have had a long sleep since I arrived at the new pack. I had a strange dream; I met close people I hadn't seen in a long time, like my parents. They stood in the distance, looking at me in warrior clothes. There was still some blood on my mother's body; I don't know if it was her or the enemy's blood. For many years lived in the ridicule and contempt of others. I heard my mother's voice of comfort and recognition. I listened to her sobbing, blaming herself for not being able to take good care of me. She also doesn't want me to become a famous hero; She hopes I can grow up happy and healthy. But it seemed that even that simple wish of my mother could not be fulfilled. Even though I never wanted to, trouble kept coming to me. It messed up my life like a bunch of cotton candy. After a while, my mother's voice and the image blurred in my vision, I tried to chase her, but she disappeared into the night. I called her name and went to find her. Through a very long road, I almos
While I was fighting intensely, I heard Ryan's sarcastic tone again. "Think carefully before you leave here." Ryan paused for a moment and then continued with obvious joking implication. "Smart people should be aware of the seriousness of the problem, right?""I'm not going anymore," I growled small. After that fight, my brain won. Because it or I know well, life is more important than face.Ryan smiled, satisfied. "As expected, you are still a smart person. Now go to sleep."I stood there indifferently; Ryan didn't like my slowness; his displeasure was evident on his face. But Ryan didn't rush or complain; he patiently waited for me in bed.It wasn't until I lay on the bed that Ryan lay down beside me. He doesn't touch me, just whispers. "Don't waste time thinking nonsense. Or spend time and mind facing what happens the following days.""What can I do?" I asked again immediately.Ryan half-closed his eyes. "Performing the initiation ceremony, you become part of the pack."An uneasine
I walk in front of Ryan's yard for the next few days. And that was with his permission, and Evelyn led the way. Otherwise, I have to stay in my bedroom 24 hours a day under extreme boredom. I was initially upset, thinking that Ryan had left Evelyn behind to supervise me, but I later learned that he was only concerned with my safety. Although his caring way is a bit possessive, it comes from the heart, so I don't get annoyed anymore.Ryan is not often at home. I heard Evelyn say he was preparing to attack some pack in the West. I don't like war, but I can't intervene or advise Ryan. It was as if I was misusing authority and could be sentenced to death.Through Evelyn, I know some more information for me is needed next. When I recover a little, the harsh training will officially begin. And I only have two weeks to prepare. But the rules and things related to the initiation ceremony she did not reveal, only said when the trainer would tell me.A few days later, the wound on my body was c
I calmed my breathing a bit and then asked. "Can you tell me more about this contest?" I asked stupidly. I had never heard of any initiation ceremony before, nor had anyone told me how to pass it.Evelyn picked up a dry branch and scribbled it on the ground to form a mountain peak. "This is Moon Mountain, considered the holy place of Black Moon. Each new member must go to the top of the mountain to receive the moon goddess's blessing and a seal. But the survey is not simple. The mountain is divided into three, clearly divided. The first part will be vertical slopes, testing the speed and endurance of werewolves. In the second part, testing strength and agility, traps and other wolves will be everywhere; they are all carefully selected. The third part is the test of intelligence, pass and you will reach the top of the mountain. Everyone will gather there waiting for you. Alpha will be the one to carve your mark."I listened attentively, sometimes looking up at the giant mountain in the
