Xander's POV

Finally, the car got to the school, and I hopped down quickly without waiting for my driver to open the door.

I was really nervous about sitting beside her in the car, especially with the contact our bodies were making at some sudden swerve of the car.

I ignored everything she was saying to me and would never look at her face. I sat at the other edge to avoid her. I was really avoiding her in fear. It was just yesterday since I took her to my pack to save her life, but little did I know it would result in this feeling going deeper.

I have read many books about Alphas who rejected their mate instantly because she was weak and useless. I had vowed to be one of them, not knowing how hard it was. It was just so impossible. My heart won't allow me to reject her and, at the same time, I still don't want to have a mate.
