The bossy nurse named Amanda, whom Chris found out from his mother, had long walked out of the nursery with her head hung low. His mother had openly reprimanded her of her behaviour and attitude, especially with the way she was treating Chris. Other than that, she was being held accountable for disrupting the peace and being irresponsible for not supervising a toddler. Everyone on the scene was shortly dismissed and the room was filled with peace again.
“Charlie, are you ready?” Chris’ mother, Anna Kiz Lukeman, asked gently as she prepared the needle.
The toddler named Charlie nodded his head slowly before holding onto Chris’ left hand tightly as he bravely embraced himself for the needle. Chris patted the toddler’s head softly, “It’ll be okay, Charl. You won’t feel a thing.”

Chapter 13: I Have To Win Taking the bus back to Nathan's place was not a peaceful ride. It was too crowded and the passengers barely left any space for Chris to breathe in. He could literally smell everyone's mixed scents of sweats and colognes from miles away. Unfortunately for him, as much as he wanted to block it off, they kept invading his nose.
