Lyle was very quiet for a long time. She needed to think a lot. She wondered how Drake must be treating her parents or how Blake was now. Her thoughts went to Nina and somehow over the last few days her anger over Nina and Blake faded to a great extent. She wanted to go and apologize to Alpha Drake for what she did, but when she remembered that he tried to murder her and leave her to die over the chasm, her anger returned with full force. Drake didn’t deserve her apology, but yes, Blake did.
But she was well aware as to how Ryder was only looking at her all the time. An hour later when he couldn’t bear her silence he said, “What are you thinking Lyle?”
“About my parents, about Blake…” she drawled.

Ryder was trying to put his thoughts together as to how the rock under her feet cracked to the extent that she slipped. She was at least a meter away from the slope on a fairly plain rocky surface.
