Chapter 46: What help?

I don't know what Mara really wanted to hear from me, when I'm also just like her; don't have an answer.

Finally, I couldn't stay silent anymore. With my eyes on her, I replied. “I don't know the reason either.”

“You say what?” Mara's eyes widened, in disbelief. Her curious and enthusiastic voice has all vanished.

I could tell she didn't actually believe my words at all.

I heard Mara ask. ” Why won't you know the reason? It's not possible?”

I sighed with a downcasted eyes. “I'm telling you the truth. Perhaps, it's just Alpha Damon being friendly to me.” I said, causally.

Right as those words slipped from my mouth, I saw Mara shook her head decisively. “No, I don't believe it. Alpha Damon doesn't seem like one that's even friendly with someone. Perhaps, he likes you but you don't know yet.”

My heart tightened at her words. I don't know why but I didn't want to curse Mara a thousand times. Why was she being on making this heart of mine keep fast, just for something that's real.
