“Did you say something, Laura?” I asked.

“Yes I did. I saw someone wearing a dress pass by. Why would a woman be involved in kidnapping?”

“Laura you must’ve seen a man, not a woman.”

“I promise, I saw a woman,” Laura said.

“It’s very late, Laura. You must’ve seen a man wearing a big cloth and you thought it was a woman. How pathetic,” I chuckled.

“I’m serious about this Ricky. I couldn’t be mistaken about her. The dress she put on was an expensive one, so I instantly knew it was a woman I saw and not a ghost.”

“And what difference would it make if who you saw was actually a man or a woman? He or she must need money, that's why they got involved in the kidnapping, that's all,” I responded.

“That’s not all. She wore an expensive dress. Which means that she isn’t working for the money. It—”

“You’re right,” I interrupted Laura. “She could be Melo. Melo must’ve come here to see how her boyfriend was doing. I swear, they’re both going to feel my wrath.”
