Racheal's POV

As I stepped back into the house, my mother looked up from her book and raised an eyebrow. "What were those people looking for?" she asked, her voice filled with curiosity.

I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts. "They were looking for an artifact," I replied, my voice filled with a mix of excitement and concern.

"The compass led them to our house, and they said they needed it to cure a disease that broke out among the werewolves."

My mother's expression remained unreadable as she listened to my explanation. She didn't say anything for a moment, her eyes searching mine for answers. Finally, she nodded and beckoned me to follow her into her room.

Once inside, she walked over to a seemingly ordinary wall and pressed a hidden switch. With a soft click, a section of the wall slid open, revealing a secret compartment. My eyes widened in surprise as she reached inside and pulled out a small, exquisite gem.
