Chapter 78

As Athena's body was unceremoniously dumped in the tunnel designated for disposing of dead rogues, she lay still, her eyes closed and her breathing shallow.

The guards who had brought her there chuckled amongst themselves, satisfied that they had rid themselves of a potential threat.

"Good riddance to that ," one of them sneered, kicking Athena's limp body for good measure.

"Yeah, she never stood a chance against our Alpha," another added, a cruel smirk on his face.

But just as they turned to leave, a low groan escaped Athena's lips, causing them to freeze in their tracks.

"What was that?" one of them whispered, fear creeping into his voice.

"I think she's waking up," another replied, his eyes widening in disbelief.

Sure enough, Athena's eyes fluttered open, revealing a pair of glowing red eye balls that sent a shiver down their spines.

"What... what's happening?" Athena mumbled, struggling to sit up as her vampire instincts kicked in.
