2 - I Kiss To The Stranger

My hands tightened into fists. Damn it, Mariana!

My glare was fixated on the girl who now very graciously wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes and looked at my brother marching over to us. I wish I had the superpower to burst her into flames.

“Apologize to Mariana right now.” Rhett said in a cold, strict voice.

My eyes narrowed on the scrunched up form of the girl pretending to be dripping with innocence.

“Twilight!” Rhett repeated and came between me and Mariana. With his large body, he completely towered over me.

“But I did not do anything wrong.” I mumbled, my hands dropping to the sides and my eyes staring down at the uneaten lunch plate.

“You skipped college. You came here and picked a fight with your pack members. You then insulted Mariana. She is the alpha’s daughter. You should be having more respect for the people around you, especially for our alpha!”

“But she is a tattletale! She had no-”

“Enough!” Rhett snapped, making my eyes snap to him. His light brown eyes which were the same as mine were now glaring down at me, “training ground. Ten laps. NOW!”

He turned around to face Mariana, his body stiff with anger but he softened his stance and started to bow in front of Mariana, “I am s-”

I grabbed Rhett’s arm and pushed him to the side to come face-to-face with Mariana. I was shaking with frustration and anger. As much as I hated the bitch, and as much I was always frustrated with Rhett, I could not let him bow in front of other people for my issues.

“I am sorry.” I said in the calmest voice that I could muster up and then turned around to stomp out of the pack house.

My heart was thudding with hurt but I was habitual of this pain now. There was only one sentence in Rhett’s dictionary for me- ‘Twilight is a troublemaker’.

I fished out my phone from my pocket and called a number while taking one more person on the conference call.

“Hey, Light.” a soft voice said.

“Wassup.” the opposite of ‘soft’ voice said.

Five hours and a half later room number 81 of Heaven Glaze Bar was dimly lit with blue- pink light but noisy with the sounds of two young girls’ ramblings and a man’s ear-splitting roar.

“The song is already over, Dylan!” the girl sitting next to me on the couch screamed at the crazy lion-headed boy who was singing at the top of his lungs.

The table in front of us was littered with wine, beer, whiskey, and many food dishes.

I had changed into a baby blue dress before meeting up with my best friends Dylan and Anna. After several drinks and selfies later Dylan decided that this was the best time for him to show us his undiscovered singing talent.

The slightly tipsy boy who was the same age as I burst out in another song with his arm flinging in the air, “So baby pull me closer…”

His grating voice had already forced Anna and me to cover our ears and groan in pain.

Finally frustrated, Anna got up and snatched the mic out of Dylan’s hands, “Stop singing before you rip Light and my eardrums.”

Anna was similar to me. Full of confidence, kind of spoiled, but pretty and smart enough to get people’s attention easily.

Then turning around to look at me with mischief in her eyes, she quirked a brow up with a cunning smile on her lips, “What’s the excuse for us to get drunk today?

Breaking my engagement? Getting my freedom? The soon upcoming end of my little lifespan? Too many to count on fingers.

I grinned at her in exchange, lifting the beer bottle in the air like it was Simba, “Because I am happy!”

Dylan shot me a scornful glance, “You say that EVERY TIME.”

I got up from the couch and slung my arm around his neck to pull him down, “Do you seriously need a reason to get drunk, you little drunkard?”

Dylan snorted in disgust and threw me back to the couch, “You drank ten glasses of wine alone! You are the drunkard.”

“Anna drank eleven!” I exclaimed in shock, “you are just too harsh to me Dylan Fangshire.”

My phone on the table started to ring. I avoided the call and grabbed another bottle of beer to chug down. Anna leaned over and picked up my phone. Her eyes narrowed to focus on the words on the screen, “R- Rh… Rhett?” she slurred.

I shot out of the couch immediately and snatched the phone from her hands.

I stumbled out of the room. The second I opened the door of the dark room, the yellow dim lights almost made me blind.

I picked up the call and put it to my ear.

“Where are you?” Rhett asked, the same cold, emotionless voice.

“Heaven Glaze Bar.” I tried to say the words right but my voice was slurred.

There was silence on the other side for a few moments, but then he muttered, “Don’t drink anymore. Dylan and Anna are with you?”

“Mmmhmm..” I mumbled.

His voice faded, he was saying something to a man on his side. Then he got back on the call and stated, “I have sent someone to pick you up. Be ready.”

He hung up the call. I dropped my hand to the side again and stumbled back inside the room. Dylan was now drinking another glass of Whiskey while irritating Anna by telling her all the things that are wrong with her face.

“I am heading out!” I shouted at them, and grinned again, “meet tomorrow at college.”

“Byeeee…” Anna waved her hand.

Dylan nodded his head and went ahead to pick up the mic again, making Anna jump at him to wrestle it out of his hands.

With my phone in my hand, singing ‘so baby pull me closer…’ I walked out of the club with a grin on my face.

There was a black car at the entrance already. Rhett was QUICK! I skipped down the stairs and jumped in the passenger seat of the car immediately. Turning my head to the driver, I found a man dressed in a crisp white shirt, and black slacks.

He looked to be in his mid-twenties, large, and tall build. His face was that I had seen male models have, all angles and square from his forehead to the jawline. He looked like the men who always stood out in the crowd for looking like the rich- handsome perfection. But his eyes… they were so cold that it sent a shiver down my spine when he glanced at me.

I was frozen for a moment, thinking ‘Why does he look so familiar?’

His brows knitted in a frown of annoyance and he opened his mouth to speak. Even with this frown he looked so handsome! I was never attracted to a man as much as I was to the man who sat in front of me with a displeased look on his face. Before even a word could come out of his lips, I leaned over and kissed him.

PERFECT TIME TO RESTART THE CLOCK OF MY REMAINING LIFETIME! - these were the words running through my entire head in my drunken, peaceful haze.

It was just a peck. I kissed him and immediately withdrew.

He was surprised, but then his face darkened in anger. I turned around, threw the door open, and ran back inside the club shouting, “Go away, driver man! I will ask my friends to drop me off!”

As I rushed back toward my room I saw Anna standing by the entrance of the club with her mouth open, her phone in the air pointed at the car. Ignoring her I just dashed back to my room. Footsteps followed me.

I and Anna ran back together inside the room. Anna looked at a sprawled out Dylan on the couch and announced with wide eyes, “Light just kissed an unknown freakishly handsome GOD, Dylan!”

I was rubbing my red cheeks in embarrassment. It was the most insane thing I had ever done! My heart was pounding and my mind was just lost, repeating the kiss over and over again. ‘God! That was my first kiss! I don’t even know who that man was!’

And while I was not looking, Anna was busy uploading the video of me kissing the man on I*******m for everyone to see my hot rendezvous with an anonymous hottie.

Did I just cheat on my Fiancee?

Obviously not! I already signed the annulment papers!

And even if Edge refuses to sign it, I am dying soon anyway. It doesn’t really matter if he agrees or not.

I have never seen the man, nor do I think he has any intentions of meeting me. So we don’t really have any relationship, which means I did not cheat on him.

And it was just a kiss…

While all these thoughts were running through my head, I forgot that there were people around me.

Suddenly Anna screamed and jumped to her feet from the couch, snatching our attention. Her phone was pinging with notifications constantly. Her shock filled eyes lifted up to look at Dylan and me, and then breathed, “Twilight… you just kissed ALPHA EDGAR DARKMOON!”
