5 - Meeting The ‘Ex Fiancee’

The entire morning was spent chilling in the grand swimming pool of Wilderings Inn resort even though I did not know how to swim. The tubes came in handy to support my body, though I was already very petite. Anna, on the other hand, was more on the chubby side, so it was fun watching her struggle and cry out why this tube is too short for her boobs.

Wilderings Inn was one of the most famous resorts in the city, giving access to only the most privileged peopled. With Dylan by our side, who was the heir to one of the most influential families working in the real estate business, we easily got access to this place.

With an open ceiling, the sky covered in dark clouds that were trickling down on us as we played in the large private pool, and the line of so many snacks placed on the edge of the pool, we didn’t realize when hours passed.

By four in the noon, we got dressed in casual clothes again.

“This was fun.” I grinned at them, rubbing my wet hair with a towel. “What should we do next?!”

“Let’s go shopping!” Anna jumped in.

“I know where I want to go.” Dylan grinned.

“Don’t say the restaurant on the upper floor!” Anna flipped to him immediately with a sharp gaze.

The Wilderings Inn was famous for its interior, but more famous than that was they had at the upper floor. Since all the guests were VIPs, there were separate booths for every guest. A professional cook for every booth who would cook up any dish you desired. On one side of the large ceiling length wall you could enjoy the views of mountains trickling down little fountains and the rainy weather just made the view even more magical. On the other side you can enjoy the sight of the cook preparing the dish right in front of your eyes.

With such a premise, people could only dream of enjoying the dishes that were served at the upper floor. Although the cost was so high that only a selected few could afford it.

Dylan looked like Anna had ripped his soul apart with her words, “No food…?”

“It’s okay buddy.” I hid my amusement at his reaction, “let’s get out of here. I will give you a treat of Spicy Mexican food outside. The restaurant here is so expensive that I would have to give them my next five generations as slaves in exchange for one dish.”

We started walking out of the pool area to go to the lobby. Dylan bumped his shoulder with mine, teasing, “You drive a sports car worth millions to college every day. I refuse to believe that you can’t afford to eat in the restaurant here, Lighty!”

“That car isn’t mine.” I rolled my eyes, bumping into him harder to throw him off balance. He struggled and stopped himself from falling on his ass, making me and Anna burst out in laughter.

If it hadn’t been for Edge sending that car to me on my sixteenth birthday as a gift, I would never have been able to afford even a tire of that car. All the luxuries I had were all thanks to my supposed ‘fiancee’. There was nothing I could flaunt because it didn’t belong to me anyway.

“How about we just get a room here tonight for a stay?” Anna looked around at the white and golden interior of the hall, like in the place of royalty from the 1800s era, “we can chill out, and then go back home tomorrow? Fun night!”

I bit my lip, but then grabbed Anna’s hand and moved to the reception area. We asked about the cost of the stay for a night.

“$10,000.” The receptionist said with her ever charming, calm smile in a breathy voice.

That was way too costly.

“Mam,” the receptionist called for our attention, “This is the last available room in the resort. Would you like to book?” she lifted up the keys, extending them in my direction.

At that moment, suddenly all the people in the hall turned their heads toward something.

Wondering what it was that had snatched their attention, I also turned my head in the direction of their gazes, and what I saw left me startled.

Several people in black suit were surrounding a man in a tailored, expensive gray suit that showcased his body perfectly. His leather shoes were contrasting against the gleaming marble flood. The man had a sharp look in his eyes with a stern egoistic flare. Nobody dared to look him in the eyes. He was talking to somebody on the phone.

‘Shit!’ my body stiffened, ‘Edge?! What the fuck?’

The man who had snatched everyone’s attention within a second of his arrival was Alpha Edgar, my fiancee. Well, soon to be ex fiancee. Standing right next to him was some girl who matched his status. Though her aura was not as intimidating as Edge’s. The young girl was dressed in a beige colored bikini that showed her figure, and gorgeous face.

Unlike other men with power and wealth, Edge rarely appeared in public with a woman by his side. My mind started turning with several questions, ‘He is out in a resort with a girl…? Is she his girlfriend?’

As if he had sensed my gaze on him, Edge turned his eyes to me.

My heart skipped a beat. Immediately I turned my head back toward the receptionis, feighning nonchalance. With eyes clenched shut, I wished with desperation, ‘Please don’t let him see me. Please don’t let him see me!’

At that very moment, Anna grabbed my arm and literally shook it off my shoulder, crying out excitedly, “Light, look! That’s alpha Edgar! Oh my god, are you both destined?! Do you think he remembers you?”

The kiss. THAT DAMN KISS! Shut up Anna, for the love of god!

“Do you know the girl beside him?” Dylan inched closer to us, staring at the couple blatantly.

‘How in the fucking world would I know who and how many girls he roams around with?’ I cried out inside.

“Do you think he is here for you?” Anna excitedly shook my arm again. I grabbed her hand that was literally assaulting my arm and pried it off.

The dreams this girl has! Why would she even think that?!

Wondering if he had recognized me, I glanced at Edge again. His eyes came back to me while talking on the phone. I feigned to be looking everywhere around the hall instead of at him. He hadn’t recognized me. It was clear now. But to my bad luck, the girl next to him noticed his gaze on me, and really, like an animal changing its color, an ugly look of jealousy covered her face.

Ignoring them, I turned back to the receptionist, intending to take the keys from her, “Sure, we will-”

A hand slipped in between and snatched the keys from the receptionist’s hand, “What a bullshit. Do you think you can even afford it?”

Turning my head to find the source of the voice, I found the girl who was standing next to Edge staring at me with a mocking expression.

Do I even know her? Why the hell is she even talking to me?

“Ms. Willa.” The receptionist greeted her with a polite smile.

Willa… Willa Ray? Now I remember! She is one of the supermodels for top class brands. I had often seen her on the front pages of magazines and on TV in several reality shows.

She had black, curly waist length hair, lips painted soft, natural pink, and the nails painted lightest blue shade. The pompous smile on her face was breaking the facade of the innocence that her current look served.

With an egoistic smile, she said to the receptionist, “I will be staying here. Book the room for me.”

She then turned her gaze to me and eyed me from head to toe. I was wearing a plain yellow sundress with little flowers on it. Anna and Dylan were also in casual clothes. There was nothing fancy about our appearances.

The smile turned to a look of mockery on Willa’s face. I was pretty sure she was wondering why would a man like Edge even bother to spare a few glances at me. A girl who was no match to her.

“No need to pretend to be rich.” she smirked.

That nasty look on her face had already pissed me off. Her words just added fuel to the fire,, “Who the fuck do you think you are to judge if I can afford it or not?” I started. Then tilting my one hip I leaned against the receptionist's desk eyeing her from top to toe just like she had to me, “Dressing in a piece of designer bikini doesn’t make you 'rich'."

Willa glared at me as anger surfaced on her face, “I know college kids like you like to pretend to have ‘forgotten’ their wallets at home, so let us save our time. Who even allowed people like you to enter such a posh place?”

“Oh really?” I raised my brows in mockery, and took threatening steps toward the woman, taunting her, “do you own this place? Who are you to decide who can enter or not? You want the security guy’s job here?”

“How dare you?!” She started shaking in anger.

“What?” I mocked again, she started to stumble back, “you are already in your forties, right? Wearing a beige swimsuit that almost makes you look naked, flaunting the curves that you don’t have while hanging your arm around the old uncle thinking you look fabulous?”

Unknowingly, my words had not only offended Willa but also Edge. First I called him uncle, and moreover, the dress I had just commented on had been brought by him just a while ago. Even though Willa had picked many swimsuits, he had just randomly pointed at any of the suits for Willa to wear. With her small breasts and hips, the dress did not match her figure at all and instead made her look more like a rectangular cardboard box.

Willa’s face had lost all color. Being the only child of Ray family, she was treated like a princess everywhere. No one had ever dared to insult her in this way.

With humiliated stance, she turned around and stormed over toward Edge. I think it took all the power inside her to bring out the most heartbreaking voice she could muster, and then whimpered, “Edgar, throw this fucking girl out of here. She insulted me! And then she called you an uncle?! She also insulted your taste. She doesn’t deserve to stand here any more.”

Edge, who had been busy on the call ignored Willa and turned away from her to continue his talk. Though at her complaint his eyes came to me again and took a closer look.

Visibly his eyes dilated in recognition the very next minute. He had realized I was the one who had kissed him in the car.

SHIT!

He glanced at the girl next to himself, his lips curved slightly as if laughing at what Willa was wearing. Though it was there for a fraction of a second, the very next second there were no expressions again.

The moment Willa had headed over and complained to Edge, everyone in the hall had turned their attention to him, as if waiting when he starts to defend Willa. But to everyone’s shock, Edge’s lips remained sealed even after he hung up the call.

Willa looked like she had lost all her pride within a millisecond.

But her ego was even superior. How could she let a college girl insult her like this?! She changed the expressions on her face to flirty and cute ones and inched closer to Edge, but the moment she looked up and saw the frigid, displeased cold stare in Edge’s eyes, she froze in her spot.

At that moment, a man walked up from behind toward Edge. A familiar face, Edge’s secratary, Kane. Kane, who had heard everything that had been going on while standing a bit far away to discuss a business matter with a colleague now saw the faces of the girls whose arguments he had been hearing.

He looked at me for a moment as his brows furrowed together. The very next second his eyes widened in recognition and he immediately approached Edge, “Alpha, that girl is Mr-”
