Chapter 9

Theda POV

He was standing at the door, some meters away but I could still feel his hot breath, making it feel like he was just an inch away.

As he entered the office, my heart sank like the titanic ship, my head was hanging and I felt my body tremble.

His eyes went down to the shattered glasses of the vase and his frown deepened.

"Did you break it?" He asked with a groan, and taking another step, my heartbeat increased rapidly.

Still on the floor, I couldn't help but notice that he was a good foot taller than me, his black hair was slicked back with the finest gel, and his chiseled jaw set tight as he suddenly clenched his teeth, returning his gaze to me.

Damn it.

I wasn't really checking him out, was I?

I slowly arose, thinking of an explanation to give.

"I…I…"

"Do you know what the heck you've done?" He grumbled. Reaching the table in between two couches, he sent it to an edge with his foot, causing me to stumble backward and land on the floor again.
