Although Elmer’s question was directed towards Helena, it offended me to the core as well. I didn’t like the authority of his tone to assert fake dominance over her.

She swiftly covered herself and winced in pain. This sudden movement oozed out the blood from her wounds, the white bandage turned red in a jiffy. I helped her to lay down comfortably and punched Elmer, who was trying to come near her bed, and spoke icily.
