Chapter 22

The jail was on the other side of town from my house. Two guards and a sherrif were there, waiting for my arrival. I pulled the small sports car up into one of the parking spots and hopped out, lifting my heavy body out of the low riding car. I swung open the heavy duty door, walking in under the bright floruscent lights. The hallway was simple, green tiled walls, a few different photographs on the wall.

I stepped into the Sherrifs office as him and two others were sitting at his desk, drinking coffee. He looked up when he heard my feet.

"Alpha, sir. Good morning" He tipped his coffee cup towards me, and I nodded in return.

"Where is she?" I was in no mood for small chat this morning. I wanted to get back home before Stella woke up. He nudged his head in the direction behind him, pointing towards the drunk tank windows.
