Chapter 23

The darkness enveloped me, and I couldn't see anything. I tried to take a deep breath, but it felt like there was something heavy on my chest, making it difficult to breathe.

Suddenly, I heard a voice, a voice that sounded familiar, but I couldn't place it. "Amaryllis, wake up," the voice said urgently, and I tried to respond, but my throat felt dry, and no words came out.

As I took in the familiar atmosphere around me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread creeping up within me. I knew that if I were to stay there any longer, I would surely suffocate. The air felt thick and heavy, as if every breath I took was a struggle.

I attempted to move my limbs, but to my dismay, they refused to cooperate with me. Panic began to set in as I realized that I was completely immobilized.

"Amaryllis, you need to leave," the voice echoed through the abandoned darkness. My heart raced as I tried to locate its source. Slowly, I began walking in the direction of it, my footsteps echoing loudly.
