As I turn to glance back, his face contorts with a volatile mixture of anger and confusion. I know that I have to get out of here quickly before he has a chance to grab hold of me again. My mind races with fear and adrenaline. Every fibre of my being is focused on escaping here and leaving him far behind.

As he took measured steps towards me, my heart quickened its pace, already beating faster than before. My wolf let out a fierce howl, a warning that he should not come any closer.

My eyes locked onto his as he continued his approach. His eyes were deep and intense, as if they could see right through me. But my wolf knew better. She sensed danger in his every move.

For a moment, neither of us spoke. The tension between us was palpable, as if a single wrong move could set off a chain reaction.

"I know you are my mate," said Darius, and his words sent shivers down my spine as I stared into his piercing eyes. The connection between us was undeniable. But there was no time to dwell on it,
