Chapter Sixty One

JASON

“You look like shit.” I said to Tyler, who for some reason, had flown over to NYC to come see me. It wasn’t very often he did that, but this time around, he looked really stressed. There were visible bags under his eyes which made me raise my brows in concern.

“That’s because I’ve been trying ti close this deal I have, and the man in question is such an asshole.” He said, calling the bartender over to get him a drink.

We had decided to meet up at a club, which wasn’t far from where I had just had a meeting. “I did tell you that there is a good chance that that job might not be worth it, Ty.” He had told me about the deal, but I had declined, telling him that I already had my hands full at the moment. Which was true.

Along with the various clients we had, we still had the company’s annual ball which wasn’t so far away, and as much as I tried not to be affected, I was beginning to feel the absence of my father.

We were not close. He had hurt my family….but…I had never gone to this
