We had our talk about things, but things still didn’t feel normal between us. I could tell that he was still distant from me. I kept trying to communicate with him, but mostly I gave him the space that he seemed to need.

Walking through the ruined forest, we didn’t say much to each other. I could tell he was trying to force himself, but it was more as if he were simply going through the motions.
