“You need to eat something, Iris” Ezio said, sitting beside me. He brought me a bowl of soup that one of the chefs had prepared, and knowing that I was still shaken from almost being claimed by the Alpha, my love knew that I might not be eating much.

I nodded, taking a spoon and putting it in my mouth. The soup tasted heavenly, I had to admit, but my mind kept racing with the number of things that could have gone wrong today.

Alpha Ryker was not back yet, and I couldn’t help but worry about Ariana. What had happened at her school, or why her teachers called, was something that I didn’t understand, but I knew that I was thankful for it, not even bothering to claim that the Alpha was wrong for sending his daughter to school when I told him that she wasn’t ready.
