Ava's POV

I blinked hard moving my eyes between them. “I don't understand. What do I have to do with any of this?”

Indira got up, and came to sit beside me, “This is a very important task, Avaline. Miguel is dangerous, and his being alive puts a lot of people at risk including your dear Nando. Miguel will stop at nothing until he's dead.”

I swallowed hard. “What do you want me to do?”

She placed her right hand on my shoulder and held my gaze. “It's a lot to ask but we need you to return to him—”

“What?!” I blurted, cutting her off, “You can't be serious. You want me to go back there?”

“Yes.”

I jumped to my feet and glared at her in dismay.

“Do you have any idea how hard it was for me to get away from there? Do you even know how difficult it was for me to escape? How many tries I risked? I almost died!” I enunciated, hot tears running down my cheeks.

Indira got to her feet, reaching for my arm, “Avaline, I know—”

I swatted her hand away before she could touch me, “No, you don't,” I cut
