Chapter 38: Crawling Back To Hell

Ava's POV

My chest was heavy, but I knew that this was something that had to be done. Not just for Fernando and myself but a lot more people that can be saved from Miguel's cruelty.

“I'm aware, but it's a risk I've got to take for you and everyone else,” I declared, and he ran his fingers down my arm.

"Ava, you are not some sort of Hero. You don't have to do anything for anyone," he retorted, his hold on me tightening, but I had already thought about it.

"It is the only way, Fernando."

“But I don't want you to go.” He responded.

“But I have to,” I insisted, “Don't worry. I'll be okay. I promise.”

He nodded, “I can't stop you?”

I shook my head, “It has to be done.”

“Okay. I'll wait for you,” he squeezed me to him tightly and kissed my forehead. He held me tightly until he fell asleep, and I lay in his arms dozing off as well.

I slept for a brief time before I heard the knock on the door. I pried my eyes open and saw Indira standing at the entrance with her arms crossed.
