I knew bringing Avalon home wasn't going to be easy but I was more than willing to risk it regardless of the fact that, she has spend so much time with the Vega pack. It was obvious to me where her loyalty would lie at this point but even at that, I still brought her back.

And now, I know just how wrong I was. The girl i once knew as my mate was not the same as the one i brought back home that night. And no, I'm not talking about her new found strength or her ability to draw blood from my flesh at will but the bloody look in her eyes. 

I didn't want to believe it at first but it was right there and staring right back at me in the fucking eyes and I knew without a doubt that, her innocence was gone.
