Chapter 32

Ashley's POV

It was a new day and I woke up with mixed feelings. I didn't even know how and when I fell asleep last night.

Although I was happy that I could shift again, my heart was heavy and filled with dread. I was treading a precarious road of no return.

I had succeeded in confusing Allen but it didn't matter because neither Allen nor Prince Logan could have me.

For obvious reasons, Allen was paired with my group. Other members of the group avoided us like we were a curse.

Eventually, when the tasks were shared, Allen and I were paired to wash together.

Allen was still mad at me. He made things difficult for me. He wouldn't even spare me a glance or talk to me. He did not allow me to do any of the tasks and he shunned me every time I tried to start a conversation.

"Allen… we've got to talk," I finally said when I couldn't take it anymore.
