CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR - WHAT'S WRONG
Caleb POV
My heart thudded in my chest at the sight of Cassy’s brother.
Adam Burke had this look on his face that did not bode well for me.
Abruptly, I walked up to him to explain, but when I reached him, Adam reacted first. His fist came into contact with my jaw.
I grunted in pain.
“You are despicable.” He told me and walked out.
I wiped my mouth and saw a streak of blood smearing my fingers. The pain was nothing compared to the damage Adam would do to my family if he decided to tell Cassy about what he saw today.
That is something that I can’t allow.
I had only begun to lay my claim on them. Cassy still needs to forgive me for hurting her and the children. I still have to work my a*s to compensate my family for my stu*idity years ago.
I had barely begun my campaign, and if Adam Burke stepped in and ruined things for me, everything would be for naught.
Immediately, I ran after him.
