Sixty two: Our Vow

I kept my hands in the pocket of my pants, stared blankly at her. I really didn't know what to say. I knew I was angry and upset, yet, I was unable to vent the right emotion on her. Was I supposed to keep quiet, or ask her to leave?

For the first time since I had known her, she looked so nervous to speak to me. Those brown eyes held a bit of fear, and she seemed as gentle as a dove. All of these were nothing but pretence. Everyone knew that Louella was crazy. 

"Can we please… talk?" She probably noticed I wasn't ready to speak, so she broke the silence lingering around us. 

Again, I scoffed. "About what? Don't get what's going on."

She sighed. "I know you're angry. But, we've gotta talk, huh?"
