Chapter 24. A Plan

"How was your day? Feeling better?" asked Jayden as he entered the room.

Albert's eyeballs rolled towards the door. Jayden was walking over with a wide smile.

"Where have you been? Are you going to let me die? I'm dehydrated, and no one's coming?" grumbled Albert.

Jayden chuckled and sat on a chair beside the bed. He was not at the hospital the previous day. After Albert was declared to have passed his critical period, Jayden immediately left the hospital. He had to replace his Alpha for some work.

"My Alpha is not well, so I need to take care of some work that should be his job," Jayden replied. "Good to hear your harsh words again, Superior," the man continued sincerely.

The poison had almost killed Albert. As Judith had said, Albert suffered a high fever. Judith seemed to forget to mention if the potion could cause cardiac arrest. No doubt, panic ensued in the intensive care unit. Mike did everything he could to save the Alpha.
