Chapter 43. Defeated

Nothing Ryn said was off the mark. Every single word that came out of her mouth was like a speeding bullet through Darla's chest.

"Why are you freezing? Am I right?" Ryn said in a sarcastic tone.

Darla's teeth clashed over the insult. But she was trained to control herself well. Despite being intimidated, Darla could still manage her emotions. She was ignited for a moment but eventually regained control of the emotions that were trying to burn her soul.

Darla smiled slightly, then said, "Silence does not always mean justification. I think you're misinterpreting my silence, Future Luna. I'm silent because I don't want to waste my energy on unnecessary arguments."
