Chapter 44. Wounded

Ryn turned her head toward Jayden with a troubled look.

"Does he look mad at me?" she asked anxiously.

"I don't know if he's mad, but I see him worrying about you a lot," Jayden replied.

Ryn bit her lip and scrolled her eyeballs wildly. She was agitated. Jayden's answer did nothing to relieve her. She didn't know when she had gotten so anxious about someone. Was it because that person was Albert?

"You'd better go see him soon before he gets mad and we all suffer the consequences," Jayden suggested.

"I'll catch up with him, but...." Ryn paused her words for a moment. She looked at Jayden expectantly. "Please, don't say anything about what you saw earlier," the girl pleaded.

Jayden took a deep breath until his chest puffed out. His flat expression left Ryn unable to guess what he was thinking.

Would Jayden be on her side this time?

"I can't make any promises. He's my Alpha. I'm not even sure I can tell a lie to him," Jayden said.
