Chapter One

Finn's POV:

I looked around the crowded room and had to force myself not to yawn, i couldn’t stand attending events where everyone drank too much, laughed too loud and tried far too hard to impress each other, i knew i was what women considered a real catch.

Hell, a stupid magazine had done a write up on NYC most eligible bachelors and placed my picture as number one, I had been furious and tried to have myself taken out of the article but my attorney had spouted some crap about freedom of speech, since the publishing of the article,i was being approached by even more materialistic females.

The magazine listed my net worth as equal to the richest man in the world, they had also said i was tall, dark and handsome, he stood over six feet, with broad shoulders and muscles that rippled throughout his entire body, i hated gyms but i ran every morning and sometime in the evenings too, I had discovered at a young age that running was a great form of relieving my stress.

I knew the second best way to relieve stress was to take a woman to bed, the minute i was done with her, i walked away. Though there were many women who tried to get me to stay but no one held my interest longer than it took me to button up my pants.

After my heart had been shattered by Lilith, i was not interested in any other woman, i figured once i got my revenge, i would think about settling down.

A woman breezed by me wearing entirely too much perfume making me snapped back to reality, almost chocking, i sighed, hating the fact that women had to spray lot of fancy stuffs all because they wanted to impress men who wanted nothing to do with them other than to get in between their legs, satisfy their sexual hunger and dump them, i grabbed a glass of wine from a passing waiter.

These parties were all about who had the most to offer, the women were on the prowl and the men were fishing, I wasn’t interested, if i wanted a woman, I could have one at any time, i wasn’t interested in superficial, wanna-be socialites.

I watched as a couple of ladies passed by, dripping in diamonds and low cut gowns, they were trying to catch my eye, and normally being my usual self, I would make their day by flirting a little, giving them the impression they stood a chance but today was not that day. Iam having a raging headache and pissed i would been summoned.

“There you are boy, What are you doing hiding in the corner?” Russell, my father, walked up to where I was sitting, noticing the uninterested, bored to death look on my face.

“Iam wondering why Iam here when I rather be home with a scotch and my feet up,” i replied, a frown on my face as i gulp a huge content of my champagne.

“You are here because you received a request from your father, I have some things to discuss with you later” my father responded in his no nonsense voice, ignoring the look of disgust and growing anger on my face.

“And it couldn’t wait until later?” i questioned, trying not to let my anger and rudeness attract the attention of the other guest who were obviously enjoying their night.

“Oh live it up a little, you are always so busy adding more millions to your bank account you do not stop to smell the roses,” my father admonished, giving me a side look, before gulping his drink at a go, signaling the waiter to come over.

“I live it up plenty, hell I was in Milan last week.” I rolled my eyes at my father, taking the last gulp of my champagne, before settling the cup down on the table.

“You were in Milan on business, that doesn’t count,” my father fired back, a bit exasperated.

“For me, the ideal time is mixing business with pleasure,” I told my old man, with a waggle of my brows, we both stared at each other for some time and relaxed.

“Seriously father, I do have a headache, what is so important that it couldn’t wait until morning?” I asked my persistent father, I was beginning to get tired of the old man, wondering when he would leave the world for good, I swear I would give him a befitting burial and make sure he arrives safely to the other world.

I could remember the time i had made my first million of dollars, i moved my father to the city and Zayn was the Chief Financial Officer of my huge corporation, my father was brilliant and had helped the company grow further, he may have had several hard times while i was growing up but he was essential to the company even till now, no wonder he could confidently boss me around without any repercussion.
