Chapter 32 Secret Plan

"I was an orphan and always did everything alone. Most people were reluctant to deal with me, before I became a doctor, because they were afraid I would burden them," said Audrey in a bitter tone.

"I hate short-minded people like that," said Aretha irritably. "They must be heartless."

Audrey smiled at Aretha's words. "That's why I chose to keep the twins a secret because I was worried that Liam wouldn't accept them and instead see them as a burden. Or, what was more painful, if he thought I was lying."
