"Yes, Mr. Garland." The woman nodded and walked away to set the table.

Based on this woman's appearance and tone, Calla deduced that she was probably a maid.

Once again, she thought that Mercer was quite a thoughtful man. He knew that Calla would need to rest in bed for a few days, so he hired a maid to do chores around the house.

Within seconds, Calla's anger dissipated. This was because she'd realized something after getting to know Mercer; although his mood changed as quickly as the weather, and he had a short fuse as well as a sharp tongue, he was a kind person.

He frequently considered problems from other people's perspectives. He just didn't know how to express his feelings. There wasn't a need to get angry at someone like that. He wouldn't react to her outbursts, and she'd just be a victim of her own anger.

There were three dishes on the table: roasted pork ribs, garlic butter green beans, and mashed potato respectively. There was also a ceramic pot of clam chowder.
