31. Spider sting

"Mom, hold on, Mom," Elena whined as she continued to pretend to panic. Her acting skills were impeccable, even as tears streamed down her cheeks. I don't know where those tears came from.

Theresia was still lying helplessly in Jonathan and Edmund's lap. There wasn't much movement from the woman, only a tight grip on her chest and eyes that continued to bulge due to a very strong heart pumping blood.

Both eyeballs rotated, but the room in the car cabin seemed to be spinning. The dizziness Theresia experienced was so intense, it felt as if a large boulder had fallen on her head.

In her helplessness, Theresia cried silently. Crystal chunks melted through her eyes. The woman hated her helpless self so much.

Her two eyes stared at Jonathan and Edmund as if begging for help. But her words were stuck in her throat; not a single word escaped her lips, which were polished with bright red lipstick.
