Mom, it's me Noah, can I come in?" I flinched upon hearing my son's voice. Quickly, I wiped the tears from my cheeks. I didn't want him to suspect anything; knowing Noah, he was a curious child who always sought answers.

"Yes, is there something wrong?" He shrugged and climbed onto the bed. He approached me tentatively, and I was surprised when he reached for my face and wiped something away. He raised an eyebrow at me, and I looked away. He was too mature for his age, understanding things he shouldn't at such a young age.

"Stop lying, Mom. It's written all over your face. Don't cry, I'm hurting too." He looked directly into my eyes; he really knew my weaknesses. How could I lie in front of my son?
