Chapter 54: Angel pov

I wake as I feel my body being lifted and immediately my body and mind panic.

“Shh easy, Angela it's only me, you are safe.”

Strong arms hold me close to a warm body as I thrash around before I get my bearings and finally recognise Grant’s calm voice. I open my eyes and meet his concerned gaze as he holds me.

“S-sorry, I, uh.”

I don’t really know what to say about my panic attack and leave my sentence unfinished while I feel my cheeks warm in embarrassment.

“Hey. You don’t have to be sorry; I should’ve known that this was a possibility.”

I look up at him feeling guilty. I have forgotten my fear of being touched after spending so much time with him. But it seems that I can only tolerate him like this while I am awake and aware.

“I don’t know what to say, Grant.”

“You don’t need to say, anything Angel. Are you okay with me still carrying you upstairs? You seem to be quite sleepy still.”
