ARABELLA POV

I stared after her, wondering what she meant by that statement she just made. I know it’s about Rhys, but this somehow emboldened my suspicion that she was the one in the garden that day. It had to be her since she was making snide remarks to me just now. At the same time, I really don’t have the energy to waste on her. They were already clamoring for my name on stage and I really needed to get these drugs up there and booming.

“Take these to the stage,” I said to the two handlemen. “Can the both of you assist in doing this, please?”

They both came forward and started to tow the table of drugs to the stage, each of them at each head of the table. One of the nurses in the hospital raised the flap of the tent and smiled encouragingly at them. When they took it to the stage, I took long and deep breaths to prepare myself. It’s not every day one goes out to talk to others and convince them to use their bodies and receive foreign objects for their good.
